| Bio: | I'm 23 years old, an artist, writer, student and fandom nut (current obsession: Transformers). I live in Minnesota and have three cats, two honorary sisters, and a brother who is generally indistinguishable from a pack of his friends. I've just decided to become an art major, which I should have done in the first place, and am learning to be myself instead of what the world tells me I should be. I'm Pagan, bisexual, politically progressive, and feminist. Art runs through me to the depths of my soul; it is a fundamental part of who I am, and when I get distracted from it and don't make it a priority to work on, I get depressed and feel hopeless and worthless and tired, like my soul is starving without some vital nourishment. I am best at drawing, with pen-and-ink, pencil, or conte crayon; I also paint with oil paints and do ceramics tolerably well, also calligraphy and a little bit of metal sculpture. Mostly what I write is fanfiction, but I also do original fiction and poetry. I'm an adult and I write adult things, but mostly they live in the communities rather than on my journal. Right now my fandom of choice is Transformers, and most of my attention is directed there; I also like Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Forgotten Realms. I have a tendency to be attracted to the bad guys a little too much; they are often complex and striking in ways that the protagonists are not. My ultimate favorite thing is when a bad guy I like becomes a good guy (i.e. Severus Snape and Darth Vader). I love cars, musclecars especially, and the Transformers movie was sheer heaven for me as it included my favorite, a Saleen S281 Extreme, and my second favorite, a Generation-Five Camaro. I love fast, sleek, sexy cars that use too much gas and are far beyond my ability to afford. I also like motorcycles, usually the racing types rather than cruising bikes, although they are quite beautiful often as well. I love all manner of beautiful things, with bonus points given if it's powerful, and I don't begrudge anything a bit if it's dangerous. I like thunderstorms and volcanoes, explosions and fireworks and animals like sharks and big cats. Also swords, knives, et cetera. Shiny things in general. I like to be dramatic and edgy in appearance, indulging my own sense of beauty without much concern for anybody else's. I tie sparkly things in my hair a la Jack Sparrow, and wear too much black. I dance, admittedly without much skill, but I dance; I sing, with no real clue how I sound, but I sing; I like horseback riding and rock climbing and kayaking, and am halfway through scuba-diving certification. I believe that strength comes from knowing yourself and being true to yourself; courage is not lacking fear but spiting fear; and I'll believe in God(s) without proof, but I damn well require proof if I'm going to believe what other humans say about Them. Favorites (off the top of my head, anyway): Movies: Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Riddick, Back to the Future, Spaceballs, Paint Your Wagon, Evolution. TV Shows: Dukes of Hazzard, M*A*S*H, Knight Rider, Mythbusters, Nature, Crocodile Hunter, Iron Chef, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, The Replacements, Kim Possible, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Transformers, Star Trek. Books: Clan of the Cave Bear (and sequels), Harry Potter series, Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey, anything Drow-related from Forgotten Realms, Cast in Shadow (and sequels), The Hunt for Red October, Pretties (and sequels). Music: It depends on the song, not the genre. I like things from almost every genre; I prefer pieces that are fast and spirited, heavy on the percussion, with catchy melodies and good rhyme scheme and well-written lyrics. Food: Caramel-filled chocolates. Most types of fresh fruit. Fried rice. Fried chicken. Fettucine alfredo. Salmon. Raw oatmeal cookie dough. Divinity candy. Pad Thai. Crushes on real people: Kimora Lee Simmons, Brenda Song, David Midthunder, Eric Schweig, Shakira, Naomi Campbell, Rihanna.
