Watching TFAnimated. Prowl sounds like Shere Khan from the Disney Jungle Book. This makes for fascinating mental imagery of the character.

Meep? [Feb. 15th, 2013|10:20 pm]
[Tags|, ]

So, I haven't posted since October.

Too much feeling like I have no voice, or like since I don't know how to say something I shouldn't say it, or nothing is the right thing to post after one, two, three, four months of silence.

So, basic news of the past few months:

Seasonal Scaring-People Job ended at the end of October. I got a bonus, got invited back next year, and got my bank balance plumped up a bit, but I've been unemployed since then.

My oldest cat, Purkin, died in December of kidney failure. He was nineteen, eighteen of those spent with us. We found him as a stray, outside of church, when I was ten; I came upstairs out of Sunday School and my Dad was standing around talking to people with a cat in his arms. The first week we had him, he was purring pretty much constantly, which inspired the name, a shortened version of Purr-Content. He ate angel-food cake and got elevator-butt when you scratched under his tail and kicked a felt football around with his back feet and I miss him so much. ;_;

Spoot, one of our other cats, actually got brave enough to come into my room a few times and has twice come up and slept on my bed. Mario, the other cat, has fallen in love with one of my pillows and has developed a tendency to sleep on my chest now and again. I love them.

I am trying to get back in the habit of writing fanfic. If anybody is willing to kick my ass on this, please do.

The transfer cable for my digital camera is missing. So I have pictures of cats, the zoo, interesting snow patterns, and a mushroom the size of my head that are stuck in the innards of the camera until I figure out how to get them out.

I have patterns and fabric, including canvas duck for the first attempt at a corset, and stuff for a pencil skirt. We'll see how this particular obsession goes.

While I have not been writing much, I have been drawing. Lots and lots of Transformer pics forthcoming.

I need a Tumblr. Tumblr confuses me. Hopefully getting one will fix this?

Sorry to anyone who has missed me for dropping off the internet.

Skirts and corsets and sewing, oh my! [Oct. 10th, 2012|12:52 pm]
[Tags|, , ]

How and when did I go from "SKIRTS AND DRESSES ARE TEH EVIIIIIL" to wanting sundresses and pencil skirts (and their accompanying jackets, hats, gloves, heels, etc) in every color of the rainbow?

Why, for that matter, am I gleeing out over corset supplies on the internet and plotting to make one?

Given my track history with sewing, we'll see how this goes.

Turtles and headspace-weirdness. [Oct. 8th, 2012|09:24 pm]
[Tags|, , ]

So. Am now watching three different series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, more or less at the same time.

Somebody slap me or something.

I'm MST3King the most recent series. Raphael's an ass. I'm going to be really impressed when somebody figures out how to filter computer animation to make it look like hand-drawn stuff. I'm in they-changed-it-now-it-sucks mode after watching only six episodes of the 03 cartoon and one-third of an episode of the 80s cartoon (YouTube, thou art rather error-happy as of recent times).

Awaiting the arrival of Shredder, and vaguely contemplating putting Beast Wars in another window to bounce off of.

The turtles are adorable about pizza.

There is this thought percolating around my head that the next big technological revolution really ought to be some sort of customizeable holodeck programming thing, because I want to sort of smoosh Transformers and TMNT and Gargoyles and Star Wars and so forth and so on into one big giant ball of awesomeness that occupies a single universe-space.

Either that, or a "select artistic style, character design, and voice" across multiple series, because I want 80s April and 03 Turtles and 03 voices and 80s Shredder with the tight pants.

*wanders off to Photoshop to make TMNT icons*

So . . . I appear to have obtained a new obsession. Somehow.

To the point of starting and, more to the point, actually completing fan art in a timely fashion.

Transformers people! Meme time! [Sep. 19th, 2012|04:48 pm]
Give me a ship and I’ll tell you:

Who cooks:
Who does the laundry and other chores:
How many children do they have:
Who’s more dominant:
Favorite nonsexual activity:
Their favorite place to be together:
Any traditions:
Their “song”:
What they do for each other on holidays:
Where did they go for their honeymoon:
Where did they first meet:
Any pets:
What do they fight over:
Do they go on vacations, if so where:

Any ship, no matter how weird: if I know both mechs, I will imagine them together for you .

Gave my demon-costume makeup for my new job a test run. (Pictures to follow once someone finds the fucking transfer cable.)

I am currently sitting at the computer in full-on demon makeup, eating a quiche. ^_^

I has a job! [Sep. 4th, 2012|03:38 pm]
[Tags|, ]

And it is official, I have a job dressing up in a costume and scaring people in a haunted forest for a month or so of weekends. ^_^

Now to obtain makeup and start working on my demon costume, and figuring out how to make ram's horns a) look realistic, b) be light, and c) stick to my head.

And morning brings consequences. [Sep. 1st, 2012|12:16 pm]
[Tags|]

Yesterday morning I got up early and seal-coated the driveway. We used cheap stuff this time, and it doesn't smell as nice (for those of you with normal senses of smell, this refers to the tar-smell that road-paving brings, which I love) as the normal sealant we use. But the driveway is blue-black and pristine and awesome, although still sort of falling apart.

After that, I went over and helped a friend move. This was something of a clusterfuck, as she wasn't all that packed and of course had three kids age three to seven running around, either trying to be helpful or not parsing the concept of "don't play in the walkway while people are carrying bulky furniture out." I kind of wish I'd been paid extra for every time I had to tell a small child to move out of the way so I don't trip over them and go crashing down the stairs with a box full of heavy stuff. Then she had other helpers come over, and they brought their children, and all of a sudden there were six of them, including one baby/toddler still in the crawling stage, so we had to maneuver around a fast crawling baby too young to understand---at least when the others were playing in the walkway they understood the concept of needing to get out of the way when two people came down the hall with a dresser in between them. Oh, and three 3-4-year olds in a group? Translates somewhat magically into "toys, shoes, papers, and other junk land on the stairs a lot," which is a wonderful thing to discover when you've got a giant box obstructing your view.

And worst of all? They played Twilight on the TV to keep the kids occupied. So every time I carried something out I got blasted with Edward scaring Bella, the truck scene, Jacob telling Bella her being with Edward made him sick to think about, random vampires being assholes, et cetera.

On the brighter side, I got to drive a U-Haul truck. Although the times/places for it were a) in rush hour traffic in an unfamiliar urban area, and b) at night, which made it more stressful than it should've been.

Oh, and I conquered my social anxiety and asked the U-Haul people to add on the supplemental insurance at the end of things, when they had to print a new contract to do it, even though I was worried they'd yell at me for not thinking of it sooner. (They didn't. But I can remember a time when I'd have been unable to do that.)

Also I kind of maybe sorta have a job offer for a Halloween haunted village thing.

I worked for sixteen hours all told, all of it physical, came home and slept for ten.

All told, every part of my body is complaining about now.
